An elderly driver died after his car was in a collision with a 32-ton
tipper lorry.
The 73-year-old man, from Polegate, was driving a Mazda saloon when the accident happened outside the Esso service station in Eastbourne Road, Polegate, just after 9am on Saturday.
The driver of the tipper lorry, a 53-year-old man from Worthing, was uninjured.
The names of those involved have not been released by Sussex Police, who operate data protection guidelines.
A motorcyclist died in a head-on collision in Wartling Road, Pevensey, yesterday.
The 33-year-old rider was believed to have come from the Eastbourne area.
The driver of a Mercedes involved, a 43-year-old man from Battle, was uninjured.
The road was closed for four hours as police cleared away debris and investigated the collision.
Police said the identity of the dead man was not expected to be released until later today.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, at 9.55am.
Meanwhile, firefighters had to cut three people from the wreckage of two cars after a crash.
Two appliances from Crowborough and a rescue pump from Uckfield were called to Herons Ghyll, on the A26 south of Crowborough on Friday at 9pm.
The road between Barnsgate Manor Vineyard and Temple Grove School was closed to traffic both ways while firefighters struggled to free those trapped.
Two of the victims were taken to the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath for treatment.
