Thousands of homes will give tenants a warmer winter thanks to a new insulation scheme.
Brighton and Hove City Council has approved the £880,000 scheme for cavity wall and loft insulation in 4,500 homes.
There will also be loft insulation works alone in a further 2,000 homes.
Work will start later this month.
The scheme will save city council tenants between £250,000 and £400,000 a year in fuel bills.
The scheme is part of the council's home energy efficiency strategy and cabinet housing councillor Tehmtan Framroze said: "It is a major step toward eradicating fuel poverty in the city by making homes more energy efficient and reducing the long-term cost of winter heating."
Three national fuel suppliers have agreed to provide at least £580,000 towards the scheme.
