Visitors to our city must be so pleased to hear Brighton and Hove City Council has decided to allow cars into Preston Park.

Not only does this create free parking facilities in a handy location but, also, those who are clever can now bypass the traffic jams on the London Road by driving right through the centre of the park.

Of course, this will only be an advantage in the beginning for, as everybody learns of our car-friendly attitude, the congestion will begin to build up inside the park too.

But why look on the negative side? After all, that situation is surely in the far future...
