How can one put into words the feeling of horror, helplessness, pain and heartbreaking sadness at the recent events that have taken place in the US?
We can sit in our homes and yet, through modern technology, witness at first-hand this horrific terrorist attack on innocent people going about their daily business.
I wonder what the reaction was of those people in Ireland who, only a couple of weeks ago, were deriding their neighbours because they had the audacity to be of a different faith and dared walk down their road? Was that not a form of terrorism?
The US government has declared war on international terrorists and all who support them - rightly so - but does that include the terrorists in our own islands and those US citizens who fund and support them? Remember, they tried to wipe out the British Government.
Let's hope good will come of this evil and make this a better and more secure world to live in.
