The article "Europe's concern as Bush talks war" (The Argus, September 18) is yet another example of how the politically-correct media in Europe hedge their bets when dealing with terrorism.

The tone of the article was subtly anti-American and it was almost on a par with the disgraceful BBC TV programme Any Questions a few days previously, when anti-US feelings were actively encouraged by Richard Dimbleby and his panel.

There is only one fact that matters: There are more than 5,000 martyrs buried under the rubble of the World Trade Centre in New York. This is war - a holy war against the Islamists. Don't make any mistake about it. And yes, the US does need to have real evidence before unleashing its war machine.

However, Europeans take note: If you're not with the US on this one, you're definitely against the US and its people will remember that.

There are times when I'm ashamed to be English and this is one of them.
