Henry Goodburn admits Haywards Heath missed the chance to pull off a cup shock.
The Sussex champions battled well in their 26-11 defeat at Blackheath in the National Cup last week.
But skipper Goodburn felt they had enough pressure to have won.
Not only did they lose points through faling to finish, they also conceded a converted try after losing possession near the home line.
Goodburn said: "Blackheath took their chances and I was a bit annoyed we did not take ours.
"Their first try was the most annoying. We could have won the game."
He added: "There were some really good performances. Glenn Rankin was outstanding in the second half and the forwards did well."
Heath host Harlow in the league next Saturday and Goodburn added: "It will be tough. The good thing is we have improved with each match."
