Micky Taylor has started his clearout at St Leonards by releasing midfielder Ross Venables and he insists there will be more players following him out of The Firs.
He said: "I am looking to release a couple of more players. We don't have the resources to carry spare players. Ross parted on amicable terms, unfortunately he was the victim of an overload of players in midfield."
Saints face Dartford on Tuesday and Taylor will settle for nothing less than a win.
"I have a theory that if you can get 20 points from every ten games then you have a great chance of getting promotion. We have played six and we have nine points so I'm looking to win at least three of our next four matches."
The arrival of striker Dominic Barclay has coincided with an ankle injury to top-scorer Tony Reid. But Taylor is hopeful his influential striker will be back for the next round of the FA Cup against Fisher Athletic.
The Saints boss added."Reidy is a good healer, he's one of those footballers you have to bash across the head to stop them playing."
