Shoreham boss Roger Brace believes his side may have set a club record after recording their seventh clean sheet.
The County League Division Two pacesetters produced another outstanding defensive performance in their 2-0 win at Wealden on Saturday.
It gives them a four-point cushion ahead of Saturday's home game with second-placed East Preston.
Brace said: "I suppose seven games without letting in a goal must be some sort of record.
"We've switched to three at the back with wingbacks this season and the players just hate conceding goals.
"Paul Ettridge and Keiron McCurdy have been outstanding and Nigel Silverlock has come in and brought us that bit of experience."
Ettridge also played a part in Shoreham's second goal at The Oaks, threading a pass through to Andy Agutter to convert. Mark Pulling had earlier scored a superb opener with an angled 20 yarder which flew into the top corner.
"I thought it was a good game," added Brace. "Wealden played well in the second half but we did a good job defensively and could have scored a couple more."
Shoreham have won all four of their away matches and have conceded just three goals in the league.
Rye & Iden United and Crawley Down were the other upward movers in a reduced programme on Saturday because of cup ties.
Rye are fourth, five points behind Shoreham with a game in hand, after two second half goals from Scott Price secured a 2-1 home win over Broadbridge Heath.
Crawley Down wrapped up victory at home to Westfield with three goals in the first 20 minutes. Nick Sullivan converted two penalties and Danny Kemsley was also on target in a 3-0 win.
Worthing United's new-look strikeforce struck gold at Shinewater in a 5-0 victory. Adam Westwood and Stuart Anderson both netted twice in the second half after Nigel Waller's 24th minute opener.
Two goals from striker Andy Durrant earned Oving a welcome 3-0 home win over Seaford, only their second of the season.
Richard Brown netted from a tight angle to break the deadlock after 65 minutes and Brown also had a hand in Durrant's second when his neat back-heel enabled Durrant to fire home from the edge of the box.
Two goals in the last six minutes from Tony Burnett earned Mile Oak a 3-2 success at Storrington.
