Parents who walk their children to school every day have produced a travel plan.
They hope it will encourage parents at other schools to follow their example and the council to put more money into safety.
The Stanford Infants Travel Plan has been produced by members of the Stanford Crocodile who have been walking children to the Brighton school since early last year.
A survey in the plan showed 63 per cent of pupils arrive at school on foot and 27 per cent by car.
Incentives to encourage parents to walk instead of driving include more crossing patrols, safer routes and more walking buses.
A map of junctions around the school explains where parents and children feel most unsafe and why.
The plan includes encouraging parking well away from the school, starting new walking buses and more road safety training.
It is asking the council to ensure there are crossing patrols to guide children over Millers Road and to make the junction of Highcroft Villas and Dyke Road Drive safer.
The campaigners also want improvements to safety at the back entrance to the school in Porthall Avenue and to an alleyway used by the parents and children which has been renamed Crocodile Walk.
They suggest measures to improve safety and reduce the speed of traffic along Old Shoreham Road.
Campaigner Lou McCurdy said some safety measures had been put into place, but added: "There are still a number of safety issues outstanding which this plan is addressing."
