St George will tackle an incinerator-shaped dragon as councillors debate waste plans.
Campaigners from the Defenders of the Ouse Valley and Estuary pressure group will stage the mock battle, saying plans to build incinerators should be abandoned.
East Sussex County Council will vote tomorrow on changes to controversial waste plans being drawn-up jointly with Brighton and Hove City Council.
Anti-incinerator campaigners claim plans to build a burner at Newhaven would affect the health of people living nearby.
They want the two councils to boost the amount of waste that would be recycled and are calling for a move towards zero waste.
Watching St George battle the dragon will be the Virgin Materials Maiden, saying how much could be saved if more rubbish was recycled and reused.
County councillors will also be considering the feasibility of building a sewage works at Newhaven at the same meeting.
