A picture has been issued by police of a man alleged to have snatched a Swiss student from a busy street.
A saloon car pulled up alongside the 19-year-old victim outside Eastbourne station and a man in his 40s flung open a rear door and dragged in the student.
She was put through a 15-minute ordeal during which the man tried to remove her jacket and cardigan.
But she struggled free of the man's grip then punched him before she was pushed out of the car, being driven by another man.
The student, on a two-month stay in the town to study English, managed to get to Eastbourne police station in Grove Road in the early hours of September 20.
Detectives investigating the abduction yesterday released a CD-fit of her attacker.
Detective Constable Costin Bonell, leading the investigation, said: "The courage of this young woman in a country unfamiliar to her is to be commended.
"She showed great determination during this harrowing incident.
"By fighting back, she has prevented something potentially serious from happening.
"The important thing now is that we catch the men who carried out this attack."
The man in the back of the car is described as white, with a moustache and short, greying hair.
He was quite tall, of medium build, wearing dark jeans and a dark top.
Little is known about the driver, although the victim described him as being quite young.
The vehicle was a dark saloon car with leather seats.
Anyone with information is asked to call East Downs CID on 0845 6070999.
