I am amazed Brighton and Hove City Council has withdrawn its grant to the Brighton and Hove District Leaseholders' Association.
This organisation, run by helpers giving their time free, does such a lot of good.
In a city such as ours, with so many leasehold properties, it is an essential service.
It has helped so many desperate people going under after receiving large bills from freeholders for work done badly or waiting years for repairs to be done at all.
The fact it is there gives enormous assurance to other leaseholders that, if the need arose, they could get help.
The association is much more deserving than any art gallery and, in a time of shortage, it is not the grant I would cut.
Perhaps The Argus could print a full list of the organisations the council has chosen to continue to support.
