I disagree with Peta's "Dump Dairy" campaign, aimed at getting primary school children to stop drinking milk because of cruelty to dairy cows.
Skimmed milk is very low in fat and cholesterol and is full of calcium, an important nutrient for growing children.
What other food group can be substituted when you cut out milk, cheese and yoghurt?
I could understand this type of campaign from a company manufacturing calcium supplements that wanted to boost its sales, but to try to emotionally blackmail young children into refusing milk is a very low act.
Why doesn't Peta target the adults in this country?
If the argument is good enough, it will be heard and acted upon by individuals old enough to weigh up the evidence and make their own choices.
