I was surprised to learn of the existence of a waste incinerator at Rye.

I looked it up on the Energy Authority web site and it appears to be a "hydrocarbon fluids recovery" facility.

In 1993, it emitted 1,000 times more dioxin than it was authorised to do and, in 1994, emitted nine times more dioxin than it was supposed.

No records are shown for how much it emitted after that. I presume this was because it wasn't allowed to emit any and the facility therefore no longer bothered to record it.

There is another licence number shown which has expired. No emission record is attached.

Does this facility have a web site where we can view the data Councillor Pete Jones says it publishes?

If he and the residents of Rye are so keen and enthusiastic about incinerators, would he support providing a slightly larger facility at Rye, to which waste could be transported from Shoreham, Newhaven and Sovereign Harbour by sea?
