Albion stopper Simon Morgan has warned Brentford they will have to get beyond "the best defender in the Second Division" to wreck the Seagulls' invincible League run at Withdean.
Danny Cullip's defensive partner holds Albion's former Brentford centre half in the same high esteem as boss Micky Adams.
Cullip tackles his old club tomorrow night with Albion on a run of 12 straight home League wins dating back to last season's Division Three title success.
Morgan said: "Danny was the best defender by a street in the Third Division and I agree with the gaffer, I think he is the best defender in the Second Division as well.
"I have been fortunate to play at Fulham alongside international defenders Kit Symons, Andy Melville and Chris Coleman.
"Danny has all the attributes he needs to go on and be as successful and as good as those."
Morgan has noticed how Cullip's game has developed since they were team-mates at Fulham.
"He still does exactly what he did when he made his debut against Hereford in 1996 as an 18-year-old, heading and tackling everything that moved," said Morgan.
"He was really combative, wanted to win and to keep a clean sheet and in all those respects he hasn't changed a bit.
"But I think he has learnt a lot more about the art of defending and got better with experience. Perhaps he doesn't dive in as much as he used to. Defensively he is excellent."
Morgan, 35, has formed a formidable partnership with the vocal Cullip since joining the Seagulls from Fulham in the summer on a Bosman free transfer.
They have let in only three goals in five League games together at Withdean and eight in 11 matches overall.
"It's tremendous playing alongside him," Morgan said. "The only thing is I have to put my ear plugs in!
"He goes and attacks the ball. I am a completely different sort of defender, but at the moment we are complimenting each other quite well.
"He gets on top of attackers, which makes them not want to play and drift off to the wing. That makes the rest of our jobs a lot easier."
