Nick Nurse wants his latest American import to dominate matches for the Brighton Bears.
The ambitious BBL outfit hope to unveil Albert White in Sunday's home clash with London Leopards at the Brighton Centre (5pm).
Versatile White stands 6ft 5ins and weighs in at more than 16st and will hope to finally get Bears' season up and running after defeats to Leicester and Thames Valley on the opening weekend.
Coach Nurse has followed White's progress through university in Missouri and Sioux Falls Skyforce in the CBA and has high hopes for the 24-year-old.
Nurse said: "The amount of rookies who get games in the CBA you can count on one hand but he averaged 20 minutes and ten points per game in his first year.
"He followed that with 13.5 points per game last year. He can play at No's. 3 or 2 and he will do the dirty work for the team.
"He needs to be a big time player because he can take control of games."
Nurse was highly critical of his side's lack of fitness in the Thames Valley defeat.
He is insisting on better things against a Leopards side coached by Chris Pullem, the man many fans initially wanted in charge of Bears.
Nurse added: "I am getting to learn a lot about the guys and it takes time to get things going.
"People were hesitant last week which disappointed me. We don't have anything to be hesitant about.
"We are the outsiders trying to upset other teams and go after people.
"The game against Thames Valley was worse than Bears last season but we will turn it around.
"The way we competed at Leicester was great. I thought we outplayed them but we had no breaks whatsoever."
Bears shot at just 26 per cent from the floor in the first half against Thames Valley, another area with room for improvement, Worthing Thunder will take a stranglehold on their National Trophy group if they complete the double over Solent tomorrow (8pm).
They won the first meeting 109-86 but the return at Fleming Park will be much tougher as Solent now have their Americans on board.
Thunder have left it late to clinch recent wins but star forward Gaylon Moore said: "We always feel like we have a chance, even if we are 20 points down."
American student Brian Snyder has impressed National League division two outfit Brighton Cougars, both as a player and with his part in their schools development programme.
Cougars host Thames Valley's second string at Portslade tomorrow (7.30pm).
Bognor Pirates' youthful outfit aim to break their duck at home to Taunton (7.30pm).
