Could somebody please explain what the job description for city mayor is?

So far, there appear to be only three or four people who have considered themselves eligible for the post.

They are mostly local politicians. If we knew more about what was needed we may be able to widen the net of applicants.

I'm sure a lot of people are put off the idea of a mayor simply because they do not like the personalities volunteering for the job.
