On behalf of all reasonable licensed drivers, may I apologise to Anne Begg MP over the way she was treated by the taxi driver at Brighton station on Sunday, September 30.
It was a disgrace and the driver concerned should hang her head in shame.
I must, however, comment on the statements made by councillors and council officials. Recently, a licensed driver applied for a wheelchair-accessible taxi and was turned down by Brighton and Hove City Council because, in its words, "there is no demand for them".
So, when it comes to discrimination against disabled people, despite the crocodile tears from this council, it is no better than the driver who refused to take Ms Begg.
