A man who plunged to his death over a cliff has been described by his family as a proud father "with a lot of love in his heart".
Matthew Cager, 26, who lived with his mother Jennifer in Hove, died after his car plummeted 100ft on to Undercliffe Walk behind Asda in Brighton.
Relatives said he was a popular and happy-go-lucky man who had many friends across Brighton and Hove and who had a zest for life.
He grew up in Hove before working much of his life as a painter and decorator since leaving school aged 16.
Relatives said he had a positive outlook for the future.
His uncle Carl Stripp, of Highdown Road, Hove, said his nephew's death had devastated the family.
He said all the relatives were supporting each other including Mr Cager's brother James and sister Sarah.
Mr Stripp said: "He was a genuine guy. He was a warm and emotional person with a lot of love in his heart.
"I think he had been going through an emotional time recently for one reason or another but no one imagined something like this could happen."
Friends and relatives left wreaths by the cliff where Mr Cager's red Ford Fiesta veered off the road and through a fence before plunging down the cliff.
Many are due to attend his funeral service on Wednesday.
