Glenn Dudley says it is time to move on after cruising to victory in the European Sports 2000 Championship.
The defending champion won three races, finished second in the other and will seek new challenges for next year.
Dudley, who drives a Lola Sports Prototype, said: "It was easier to win the title this year than last. We knew what the tracks were like having raced on them last year and got the set up of the car just right."
The Championship took place in Britain, Belgium, Germany and Holland and Dudley had the series wrapped up after winning the third race.
The 47-year-old, from Hassocks, is very familiar with that winning feeling.
He has won the British Sports 2000 championship five times since 1990 and has raced in all kinds of categories during a 30-year career that includes motorbikes, Formula Ford and Formula Three.
Dudley, whose commercial manager is Bob Young, said: "I fancy doing something different next time, it was almost too easy this year. I might consider doing something historic, like racing cars from the Seventies or Eighties. It is time I moved over and let some of the younger guys have a chance."
