Eastbourne Borough coach Nick Greenwood believes fans are just beginning to see the best of two-goal midweek hero Dave Adams.
The striker was on target with two well-taken goals in the 2-0 victory over Bashley to make the long trip to the New Forest worthwhile.
Greenwood said: "He is doing very well for us. He has got fully fit now whereas at the start of the season he was unavailable and missed some of the training and games."
The former Hailsham player was given trials with Brighton last season but the bad weather and injury conspired to restrict his chances of impressing the now departed Micky Adams.
However, his move to Borough from the Beaconsfield has given him a chance to impress Greenwood and boss Garry Wilson.
Greenwood said: "He's a good footballer and there is obviously big potential there or he would not have been looked at by Brighton. Now he has added fitness to his ability and he is doing very well.
"He is probably our most traditional-style of centre-
forward at the club. He holds the ball up well and brings other players into the game whereas the others like to play off others. He is similar to John Snelgrove."
With a few injuries, Borough brought in Paul Stevens to play at Bashley, and he didn't disappoint.
Greenwood said: "It's a great advantage to have someone of the experience of Paul. He is also a very versatile player who can play anywhere as he has got two good feet. He did a good job for us against Bashley."
Borough have now completed their league appointments with Bashley for this season and the irony was not lost on Greenwood.
He said: "When I was in the County League you quite often heard the complaints that teams would play each other in the space of a few days and then that would be it.
"Now we are in the Dr Martens League and we have played twice in a few weeks and that's it we are finished with them."
