Four goals by Paul Young steered Broadbridge Heath to a dramatic 4-3 victory over Littlehampton after extra time and into the third round of the RUR Cup.
Littlehampton were right in the game until the final whistle when Stuart Sell missed the chance to emulate David Beckham with a free-kick.
Goals were at a premium as Pagham went down 1-0 to Sidley United after big defender Chris Copley headed home.
Horsham YMCA sneaked through 3-2 against division two hosts Crawley Down after coming back from 2-1. Glen Newall got the winner on 78 minutes.
Doug Cashman and Nick Sullivan had put Down 2-1 ahead but Stewart McCreadie and Russell Harwood restored parity.
Rye and Iden United beat Seaford 3-2 in the other RUR Cup tie with Matt Syrett, Sean Ray and Shaun Loft on target as Duncan Kneller (penalty) and Barry Knight replied.
Westfield added another division one scalp to their tally as they romped to a 6-3 victory over Wick in the John O'Hara League Cup third round.
Goals by new signing Duncan Jones (2), Steve Ringwood (2), Lee Wood and Darren Paine steered Westfield to victory.
Wick's goals came from Gareth Green, Adie Miles and Tony Miles.
Burgess Hill had a similarly comfortable victory in their second round tie against depleted Southwick side as they won 4-0 at Leylands Park with striker Phil Churchill bagging a hat-trick. Tom Levitt got the Hillians' other goal. Eastbourne United were another side who found the Midas touch in front of goal as they won 6-1 at Wealden. United scored through Loz Dorman, Lewis Fry (2), Lee Walsh (2) and Tobi Hutchinson. Wealden replied through Craig Brown.
