Horsham crashed out 2-1 at home to Folkestone Invicta when James Dryden scored the winner in the fifth minute of injury time.
The visiting striker took possession 30 yards out, moved unchallenged to the edge of the box and his half-hit shot bobbled in front of goalkeeper Ian Chatfield and into the net.
The Hornets, from the Ryman division two, had fought back from a goal down at half-time and looked set for a midweek replay in Kent.
Dryden put Invicta into the lead after 30 minutes with a breakway goal after a Horsham free-kick had been cleared upfield, lifting the ball over Chatfield.
Horsham almost hit the target when a 20-yard free-kick by Gavin McGowan hit the bar after 37 minutes and the midfielder came close with two further headers.
The Hornets were impressive after the break and created some good openings. Gary Charman beat two defenders on the left flank before firing straight at Hudson and the visiting stopper saved another fierce 30-yard free-kick from McGowan.
Jamie Taylor was played clear on the right by a crossfield pass from John Kirby in the 72nd minute and sent a blistering 20-yard effort across the face of the goal from a tight angle.
The deserved equaliser came seven minutes later as Charman crossed from the right following a Horsham corner and former Invicta player Tommy Warrilow powered a 12-yard header over Hudson's outstretched arms.
Dryden should have sealed victory for the visitors in the 84th minute when he charged past Stuart Hardy, Eddie French and Chatfield only to shoot into the side-netting with the goal at his mercy.
In the first minute of injury time, Hardy cut past a defender on the left and Hudson got down well to save his low shot at the near post.
Horsham boss John Maggs said: "We more than deserved a draw and I am proud of the boys. Our run's come to an end.
"We've enjoyed it and made a few coppers out of it. Now we have to knuckle down and win a few league points."
