I was a patient at the Nigel Porter Breast Care Unit in July and had a breast operation in August at the Royal SCH.
My radiotherapy treatment is to follow on November 2 at the oncology centre.
I cannot express how useful this breast unit is and how caring and helpful all the staff are, especially at such a difficult time.
What a crazy idea to move this unit 20 miles away. Most people would not be able to attend check-ups and the cost of travelling would cause hardship, especially for elderly people.
Additionally, when you are not feeling well, you cannot cope with long distances.
I know the unit is considered small but it's there, handy for most Sussex people.
Also, the oncology centre is there for the follow-up treatment. If a move has to be made, why not consider the Polyclinic in Hangleton.
It's not so central but is on a bus route and has parking.
