I am very surprised at the news of the move of the Nigel Porter Unit at the Royal Sussex County Hospital.

I had to visit there a few years ago for advice. I was one of the lucky ones whose mind was put at ease when given the all-clear.

Only last week, I accompanied my daughter to Maidstone Breast Unit - well over an hour's drive from her home.

She has to undergo a mastectomy very soon and is having first-class help and advice. It made me realise how fortunate we are to have the unit in Brighton.
