Albion boss Peter Taylor is taking a back seat for his first match in charge.
Bob Booker and Martin Hinshelwood will select the side for tomorrow's Withdean sell-out against promotion rivals Oldham.
Assistant Booker and director of youth Hinshelwood were in caretaker charge for last Saturday's League win at Huddersfield and Tuesday's LDV Vans Trophy victory at Swansea.
Taylor revealed: "I am going to talk to Bob and Martin and listen to what they have got to say.
"I am sure they will be picking the team, because they have seen them play in the last few matches.
"I am looking forward to watching them play. Hopefully we will get a good result, which would put us in a nice position."
Taylor had a spell on loan at Oldham in 1983 and he is expecting a tough start against the side three points and a place below the Seagulls in fourth.
"No matter what division you are in they are never easy matches," he warned. "It's a very important and exciting game for us."
Booker and Hinshelwood are likely to name the team which triumphed 2-1 at Huddersfield. That would mean Lee Steele partnering Bobby Zamora again up front.
Steele, fresh from his 89th minute winner at Swansea, said: "Bobby's the man. You cannot argue with his scoring rate.
"I am just glad to be playing alongside him and maybe giving him a little bit of a challenge in the goalscoring stakes.
"It's a big game. Oldham lost last Saturday and will be looking to bounce back, but we haven't seen anything that has scared us in this League.
"Providing we don't get too many injuries I can see us having a go and challenging again this season."
Taylor has played down fans' fears that Zamora, with 32 goals in 35 matches at Withdean and nine in total already this season, could follow former boss Micky Adams to Leicester.
"Don't forget, I have just come from Leicester and I know they haven't got any money," he said.
