John Maggs insists Horsham's season is not dead, despite the heartache of FA Cup elimination.
Hornets were sunk by a stoppage time goal by Folkestone in their third qualifying round tussle.
They are also out of the FA Vase and well adrift of the Second Division title race. But Maggs insisted: "Our season was never going to be just about the FA Cup.
"We have still got the league cup and county cups to go for and we need to start climbing the table.
"Only two teams in this division have lost less games than us."
But Maggs did admit that attentions might soon turn to next season.
He said: "Probably the biggest priority of all is to build a side to compete in Division One next year.
"Going out of the cup was a blow. We deserved better. But I think we gave a good account of ourselves and we brought in around £18,000 including gate money."
Maggs has released Jason Lillis and paid tribute to Steve Flain, who has joined Edgware after three years at Queen Street.
Flain is based in Stevenage and Maggs said: "In the end travelling down here three times a week was too much. He said he had loved his time here and there were no gripes either way."
Maggs was set to sign Ben Jones from Worthing this week.
