An Albion supporter has been banned from football grounds in England and Wales after violence at an end-of-season match.
Paul Patrick Grealish, 27, of Rutland Gardens, Hove, received a three-year ban after admitting putting people in fear of violence after the Division Three match between Albion and Shrewsbury Town.
Grealish was captured on CCTV in Shrewsbury town centre while involved in the clashes between the two sets of supporters after the game.
Mark Linkins, prosecuting, told Shrewsbury magistrates Grealish took part in fights in the High Street and Castle Street at about 5pm on May 5.
He said: "There had been some outbreaks of disorder with the two sets of fans.
"He was captured on CCTV after the match and he is seen to go up to a youth in the road and hit out at him."
Tim Easthope, defending, said the end-of-season game between Brighton and Shrewsbury was set up as a celebration because Albion had already won the championship.
He added: "Grealish has been to more than 100 away matches in the past 15 years and said he became involved in the incidents because he was trying to break the fights up."
Mr Easthope said Grealish had travelled to Shrewsbury in a mini bus with ten friends but after the final whistle became separated from the group.
He said: "Mr Grealish was walking back to the train station with a group of Brighton supporters when they were approached by Shrewsbury Town fans coming the other way."
Grealish was also fined £500 with £55 costs.
