Albion star Bobby Zamora is set to turn down another offer from Trinidad and Tobago.
Their technical director Rene Simoes is inviting Zamora into the squad for the their final World Cup qualifier against the USA on November 4.
The national team cannot qualify and it would mean Zamora missing Albion's League game at promotion rivals Bristol City on November 3.
Trinidad and Tobago's former boss Ian Porterfield wanted Zamora to link up with his World Cup squad earlier this year. The prolific young striker is eligible to play for England as well and decided to keep his international options open.
That is likely to be the case even more so now that ex-England under 21 coach Peter Taylor is in charge.
Meanwhile, Albion are poised to have two away matches brought forward in the New Year.
The visit to Brentford is being advanced by 48 hours to Thursday January 24 (7.45) to accomodate live ITV digital coverage. That means the trip to Chesterfield will be played 24 hours earlier than scheduled on Monday January 21.
Taylor has agreed to the changes, providing Brentford face the same hectic schedule of three matches in six days.
The situation will be complicated if Albion or Brentford make it through to the fourth round of the FA Cup. Those ties are due to be played on the original Brentford date of Saturday January 26.
