Dorling Kindersley's CD, Bananas in Pyjamas,
is reasonably educational, entertaining and ideally suited for children aged between two and six years of age.
Bananas in Pyjamas is designed to help children develop key skills such as listening and comprehension.
But, unless children listen carefully, they will miss the clues needed to take the next step.
The software is not at all complicated.
The average parent will pick up the idea in a few minutes and be able to offer help and guidance where needed.
The activities are best described as "different" to those offered by most other educational CDs.
Making sandwiches, chair building, musical games and finding lost objects are reasonable and normal things to be doing and a child will relate well to them.
The publicity material with the review software was nauseating.
The CD is described as a "delightful romp through the world of Cuddles Avenue".
Users are invited to "meet the friendly teddies Morgan, Amy and Lulu and help them sing songs grow flowers and create fun new toys".
Fortunately, the reality is considerably better than the hype and the quality of the end-product more than makes up for the horrible marketing spiel on the box.
