It could have been any other school open day, except for one thing - the lack of visitors.
East Brighton College of Media Arts has been holding open mornings every day this week, but by yesterday only six people had turned up.
Principal Jill Clough has taken the snub in good heart. But she is disappointed for the pupils and hopes numbers will pick up over the rest of the week.
She said: "We have everything - fantastic displays of work, pupils ready and briefed in the foyer ... there are just hardly any visitors.
"It is a shame for the students because they are so proud of their school now. They really believe in it.
"An enormous amount of work has been done here over the last 12 months and they are desperate to show people how things have changed."
The college was relaunched last year under the Government's Fresh Start scheme.
Dr Clough said: "We sent out a lot of individual invitations but I am not really surprised at the response. I expected it to take time to change people's perception of the school.
"It did receive a lot of adverse publicity, and people remember that. Also, people are always very sensitive about where they send their children to school, and I can understand that.
"All we are asking is for people to give us a chance, come along and see what we are doing here and what the children are doing."
The college is open from 9.30am to 12.30pm every morning until Friday.
