Almost every morning I walk my two dogs in Preston Park and usually stop for a very nice cup of instant coffee, price 70p.
Some mornings, I use the Dyke Road park cafe, where the coffee is 60p. Both places are really nice.
I needed to go to North Street and, not feeling too good, thought I would stop for a coffee in Pavilion Gardens. They had awful-looking mugs. I asked for cup of instant coffee. I went to pay and was told it was £1.10 for a small cup.
There are no tourists here now but, even for them, this is far too much, let alone Brighton's residents. I can well afford the £1.10 but refuse to help such profiteering. So I went without.
