A letter of complaint written to Environmental Services has been ignored. I wonder if others have had the same experience?

I pointed out that living in a filthy environment can only have an adverse effect on children.

They look at the pavements covered in chewing gum, filth and spilled drinks and take it this is the norm.

In spite of letters to the media and my own repeated efforts, Brighton and Hove City Council has done nothing.

The pavements are thick with fallen leaves made dangerous by rain. For many years, I have complained about the fact that autumn leaves (which also block drains) are not cleared.

I also complained about the disturbance late at night by firework displays.

These fireworks are as loud as the bombs and anti-aircraft fire during the war.

Why are such powerful fireworks allowed to be made and imported?

Brighton is really a disgrace and doesn't deserve city status.
