Brighton is getting an outdoor ice rink from tomorrow until December 27.
People will be able to skate on a custom-made synthetic ice rink at Brighton Marina.
Marina marketing and promotions manager Kirsty Harris said: "We are going for the New York Times Square atmosphere, the classical Christmassy feel.
"This is very much a last-minute plan which we only decided to do five weeks ago. We were wracking our brains to think of something that would be unique and different."
The mobile rink is owned by Olympic medallist Robin Cousins and the former champion is due to test it out himself on November 27.
Ms Harris there were arrangements to put up a canopy if it rained.
The rink, in the Village Square overlooking the lagoon at Brighton Marina, will be fully operational from 2pm tomorrow.
Opening hours will be 3pm to 6pm Monday to Thursday; 2pm to 8pm on Fridays; and midday to 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
The price is £3.75 for adults and £3.25 for children under 16. Skates are available for hire priced £1.25.
