Boxer Chris Eubank is expected to be back in Brighton by November 16, despite being stranded in the Middle East.
Eubank and singer Leo Sayer are due to be star guests at a day of fund-raising frolics for Children In Need.
The former world champion has been stuck in the Middle East since the US bombing of Afghanistan started.
He has so far been unwilling to board a plane back to Britain in case the war escalates.
But a spokesman for the Hove-based boxer said he would be back in time for Children In Need.
People are invited to visit Brighton Marina on November 16, when the pair will take part in a day of events for the BBC fund-raising extravaganza.
Attractions will include an outdoor ice-skating rink, a celebrity look-alike competition and a fancy dress disco for children.
There will be an auction of items donated by celebrities and a balloon release, with prizes for those whose balloons have travelled furthest by Christmas Eve.
People are asked to contact the marina with fund-raising proposals and to ask for sponsorship forms.
