My daughter is a 20-year-old mother of a one-year-old with another due in January. She has a committed and devoted partner.
She and her partner are lifelong residents of Brighton and have been found intentionally homeless because she chose to come back to Brighton from Hastings while pregnant the first time (she was homesick and wanted to be in Brighton to give birth to her child).
My dear granddaughter has never slept in her own cot - her bed is her pushchair, she sleeps strapped in.
Her home is with understanding friends. I do not have the room to accommodate them, much as I would wish to.
So much for Brighton and Hove residents being a priority.
How very sad my granddaughter's life is like this. She is such a cheerful baby in the face of it all.
I pray she and her sibling might have a happier future.
