This Saturday, there was to be a disco-buffet in honour of my dad, John Millard, who died of cancer.
Owing to lack of response, I have no choice but to cancel.
I'm so very angry and upset that so-called friends and former colleagues didn't bother to buy tickets.
On November 5, a lady put a card through my door with a donation. I was so moved by what she wrote and felt sad she, too, had lost her father.
My heart goes out to her but, with the event being cancelled, it's not right to keep her donation. So could she call me on 01273 381685 if she reads this?
My heartfelt thanks go to those kind strangers who phoned to offer donations and I am sorry your time has been wasted.
I hope you will never lose a loved one to cancer and suffer the pain I and my family have.
I am not going to let my father down. I will raise that money by a sponsored walk or something similar after Christmas.
