Greens have welcomed the creation of a national database recording the location of mobile phone masts.
The Government's Radiocommunications Agency is plotting masts, recording locations, the type of transmitter used and power outputs.
The information is available online at www.sitefinder.radio.gov.uk Green Party city councillor Pete West said the information should help anyone who is concerned about a mast near where they live or their children go to school.
He said: "This is a valuable community resource that will enable people to find out exactly what the mobile phone companies are up to.
"People are quite right to be concerned over possible health risks from masts and this database will help them to effectively monitor the amount of radio transmissions in their area."
