A bishop is hosting a series of gigs at nightclubs to brighten up the gloomy winter evenings for teenagers.
The Right Reverend Wallace Benn, the Bishop of Lewes, will kick off the first event tomorrow at the Babylon Lounge club in Hove.
It may seem an unusual venue for a senior man of the cloth to find himself but he has two teenage children himself and wants to mingle with others to learn their views on life and the church.
The series of free nightclub gigs are being held during the next four weeks under the title Party on the Pier, with the events being held at clubs near or on piers in the region.
Teenagers aged 14 upwards will be invited to dance, be entertained and enjoy contemporary worship and chat with the Bishop.
All events will be alcohol-free and a band of young people from Sussex will provide music.
The main purpose is fun but young people with have the opportunity to speak to the Bishop directly and learn new ways of worshipping.
Future events are at the Atlantis Nightclub, Eastbourne, on November 18, and The Crypt Nightclub, Hastings, on December 2.
