As a former resident of Brighton and Hove, I cannot believe the continuing anti-Falmer campaign still being waged by a small minority.
Brighton and Hove needs a community stadium and has for a long time. Such a project represents progress.
People want to support the Albion and Withdean is clearly inadequate.
The club has made fantastic strides in the past couple of years and only a proper, permanent stadium will enable this progress to continue.
Falmer has been shown to be the best option and is supported by the club, Brighton and Hove City Council and most residents.
Jobs will be created, an area of the city regenerated and the club's plans make it clear the environmental and traffic impact will be minimal.
Many other such stadiums have been built recently in areas such as Bolton, Stoke, Derby and Southampton.
It should be a source of civic pride that plans have been prepared to do the same for Brighton and Hove.
I strongly believe all sections of the community should get behind the club and support Falmer.
Negative scaremongering and apathy have to be challenged and banished.
A modern city needs such a stadium and Falmer is the answer. Come on, people of Brighton and Hove, make it happen.
