Football enthusiasts pressing for a new stadium at Falmer should bear in mind the Albion are, first and foremost, a business.
True, a successful business at the moment but this might not always be the case.
They have failed before and, presumably, could fail again. Who is not to say that, in a few years' time, they might not be forced to sell a stadium at Falmer for commercial development and the whole search for a new home start again?
If the planning authorities would not allow a factory or offices to be built on the Falmer site, they should not allow any other business to build there - not even if it is dedicated to the sacred cow of football.
