In view of the widespread public clamour for Railtrack to be taken back into public ownership and its failure to persuade the City to come to its aid, I find it difficult to understand why the East Sussex Pension Fund should have retained its shares in such an obviously failing company.
The City clearly had no confidence in it. Why did the Pension Fund?
