C Wadey is right in supposing you do not have to believe in God or religion in order to have high ideals but, if there is no God, where do ideas about right and wrong come from?
He is also correct in postulating we are all "destined for the fiery pit of hell".
This is not a popular belief but is clearly consistent with Jesus's teaching on the subject.
Thankfully, the Bible not only describes our condition but also prescribes the remedy, which does not consist in our trying to do our best but in completely believing in someone who is the best - the very same person who spoke about the place where "the worm never dies and the fire never goes out".
