A lorry driver is recovering after a head-on crash with a minibus whose dead driver was pulled from the wreckage by her firefighter son.
Stephen Coe, 48, of Lewes Road, Newhaven, is believed to have pulled out to pass a parked car on the A47 in Norfolk when his vehicle was in collision with the oncoming minibus.
Mr Coe, who was at the wheel of a Mercedes lorry, was uninjured but was treated at the scene for shock.
He was last night back at home where he was said to be recovering.
Police were continuing to investigate the cause of the smash in which Shiralee Hammond, 43, died.
Her son Jason was one of the crew called to the A47 between Dereham and Swaffham following the accident at 5pm on Tuesday.
Four passengers in the minibus were taken to hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Sub Officer Paul Davey, of Dereham fire station, described the incident as "every firefighter's worst nightmare".
