A calendar of photos taken by the late Linda McCartney is being sold to raise awareness of the trade in horses for meat.
Brighton-based charity Viva! is leading the campaign to save thousands of horses in Poland.
The calendar, called Horses, was made with the help of Sir Paul McCartney and his family, who are supporting the campaign.
A Viva! spokesman said: "Linda loved horses and it is appropriate we are campaigning to end the cruel and barbaric export of live horses from Poland to Italy, France and Belgium for meat.
"These animals face up to five days' transport in overcrowded lorries, often without rest, food or water.
"They arrive injured, exhausted, terrified and frequently dead.
Former Beatles star Sir Paul, who lives in Peasmarsh, near Rye, said: "I love horses and have great respect for them as beautiful, sensitive animals.
"I believe they have the right to be treated with respect and love."
