A man was charged last night with the murder of 33-year-old Charmian Falkner.
James Samuel John Flynn, 35, of Brighton, was due to appear before magistrates today.
Miss Falkner, a former security guard at the Brighton Centre, was found dead at a bedsit in Dorset Gardens, Brighton.
She was discovered last Thursday by her sister Abigail and Abigail's boyfriend after her family became concerned when they did not hear from her during Christmas.
Miss Falkner moved to live with her family in Braunton, north Devon, last year.
She decided to spend Christmas in Brighton and attend a party with former work colleagues at the Brighton Centre.
She was last seen leaving the Queensbury Arms pub, Queensbury Mews, on December 21, where she went after the party.
Flynn was arrested in London on Monday and brought to Brighton police station for questioning.
Detectives were today continuing to piece together the final hours of Miss Falkner's life and appealed to anyone with information to call 0845 6070999.
