A motorist died after the car he was travelling in careered off the road and through a garden fence into a garden.
The Vauxhall Vectra left the Upper Shoreham Road, Shoreham, and ploughed through the fence into the garden narrowly missing the front of the house at about 1am on Saturday.
A fire crew from Shoreham and the heavy rescue tender from Worthing went to the scene together with an ambulance and a Sussex Ambulance Service rapid response vehicle.
A man was taken to Worthing General Hospital, but later died.
The man has not yet been identified and police are investigating the cause of the accident.
