I read the Shackleton article (The Argus Weekend, December 29) with interest because I have read most of the books about him.
However, it would help readers if The Argus were to accurately tell the story, which does not involve 800 miles of unmapped glacier - rather, I think, this is the length of the sea voyage from Elephant Island to South Georgia.
Shackleton tramped across South Georgia in less than two days. I am not being picky but this is like saying Manchester City play at Old Trafford.
Incidentally, the books are a good read to fill in the details inevitably left out of the TV drama.
