The father of Toploader star Dan Hipgrave today spoke of his delight that his son and daughter-in-law, TV presenter Gail Porter, are expecting a baby.
Royce Hipgrave said he and wife Denise were looking forward to being grandparents for a second time after their daughter Natasha gave birth to a boy last year.
Retired police superintendent Mr Hipgrave, who lives in Eastbourne, said: "Denise and I are absolutely delighted, as is the whole family."
Mr Hipgrave was speaking hours after an announcement that guitarist Dan, 27, and Gail, 30 - who now uses the name Gail Hipgrave - were to become parents.
The baby is expected in August, exactly a year after the couple wed.
The couple met two years ago on the set of Channel 4 show TFI Friday and became engaged last February.
They married in a low-key ceremony in Gail's home city at Edinburgh's India Buildings Register Office.
They are a familiar sight in Eastbourne, where Dan lived in Old Camp Road before he hit the big time with songs including Dancing In The Moonlight.
