Liam Terry and his younger sister Sophie can look back now on a very successful year of cycle racing in the junior ranks.
The pair live in Littlehampton and are members of the Bognor Regis Cycling Club.
Liam, who is 16 and goes to Chichester College, won the George Herbert Stancer Memorial southern area 10 mile championship in 23m.01sec.
He finished second overall in the Surrey League's youth road race league and was also second in the South East youth criterium championship.
Liam has won his club's Roy Fairchild Trophy for the fastest 10-miles of the year (22min.34ec) by a junior rider and the Dennis Doughty trophy for the fastest 25-mile time by a junior (1hr.0min.24sec). Liam also won his club's road race championship.
Sophie, who is ten and goes to Connaught Junior School in Littlehampton, won the British Schools under-10s national three-mile championship.
She also came first in the Surrey League's girls category and was first in her category in the Portsmouth track league.
Sophie had three open road race wins and finished sixth overall in the under-12s International Youth Tour held at Manchester. She is the Bognor Regis junior track and road race champion.
Liam and Sophie are already looking forward to next season, especially the Tuesday evening races at the Goodwood motor circuit where they are regular competitors.
